Led a four-day writing workshop in Stone Town, Zanzibar for social scientists working with data from a 26-country study on gender and agricultural innovation, advising three groups of authors writing for submission to journals.

Consulting anthropologist with Uganda's National Crops Resources Research Institute (NaCRRI)
Developed a tool for collecting cassava landraces and associated farmer knowledge in Eastern, Southern and Central Africa for the region's first cassava tissue culture collection.

Researcher for the Consortium for Improving Agriculture-based Livelihoods in Central Africa (now Humidtropics), Democratic Republic of the Congo
Conducted an independent mapping project to document the organizational and social networks making up the CIALCA partnership model in Rwanda, Burundi, the DRC and Belgium, informing its expansion into the CGIAR Research Program Humidtropics.

Undertook ethnographic fieldwork in two remote villages of the eastern DRC, building on existing quantitative data to produce a study into the impacts of conflict on farming livelihoods.

Administrative and Advocacy Intern for Oxfam International, United Nations Office, NYC
Researched developments in a dozen countries of interest, supported some of Oxfam's highest-level advocacy staff in the organization of global campaigns, and reported on inter-agency meetings and Security Council sessions to Oxfam staff worldwide.

Worked as a field research assistant, gaining experience in agricultural research centered around long-term sustainability and the integration of social awareness into the agricultural and ecological sciences.
